I ordered a second round of prototypes in the last few days, and they were released for production last night. I had to order the miniatures from a separate place from the rest of the game, but this will really give us something solid to show off in demo sessions. The minis will all come in a single color, so if anyone knows a good mini painter in Denver, let me know! The best my art skills will come is a rattle can of matte black.

On top of getting more stuff to play with, we’ve been bouncing around the idea of showing the new stuff off via a livestream. The general idea is that these live games could be available to both introduce new players to the mechanics and how the game runs, as well as providing accessibility to people who aren’t ...

I made a comment on Instagram and Facebook the other day that last week was a little tough. Canceling the Kickstarter definitely left me in a bit of a funk, and I found myself at a loss for what to do next, despite knowing where I wanted to end up. It was a little frustrating.

But then came Saturday. In the same social media post, I described Saturday as a day where we recharged our Dwarves with Swords batteries, and that definitely happened. We left our house at 8:30am and didn’t get home until nearly midnight. As I’m sure you’ve read, the Dwarves with Swords team decided to cancel the Kickstarter on Sunday. After a week of being up, we were at only 11% of our funding, and the experts say it’s extremely difficult to impossible to come back from that and get funded.

There was definitely some sadness when we realized it wasn’t going to happen this time around. But we also felt some sort of peace about the decision, so we knew it was the right one. We were fortunate enough to get some valuable feedback from backers and others within the board game community. Overall, people really liked the concept, but they wanted more. So, we’ve decided to relaunch the game on Kickstarter with minis as part of the base components, rather than the first stret...
